The aim: this review focuses on educating dermatologists about the pathogenesis, symptomatology and management options of factitious disorders. Materials and methods: Medline search was conducted for last two decades and articles containing words factitious disorders and dermatitis artefacta were identified. Results: Children with factitious disorders suffer from other psychiatric disorders, particularly depression and borderline personality traits. The prevalence ranges from 0.5-2%. Majority of children and adolescents who engage in self-injurious behaviors do not intend to commit suicide, instead they use their self-injurious behavior as an appeal for help or a non-verbal form of communication. Conclusions: Patients should not be confronted to explore the underlying psychological conflicts, rather gentle, non-judgmental and empathic approach be utilized for a good therapeutic rapport. High index of suspicion on provider’s part is a key to diagnosis. Along with dermatological care, psychopharmacological interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques have proven helpful in this population.Item Features of the Neurological Status of Patients with Latent Late Syphilis(2021-06-02) Havryliuk, Oleksandra; Nikitenko, Inna; Bondarenko, Glib; Scherbakova, Yuliia; Kutova, Valentyna; Bezruchenko, OlexiyItem Lichen planus and comorbid conditions (a review of literature)(2019) Bilovol, Alla; Tkachenko, Svitlana; Havryliuk, Oleksandra; Berehova, Alla; Tatuzian, Yevheniia; Kolhanova, Nataliia; Stetsenko, SvitlanaIntroduction. The studying of the comorbidity of skin diseases is a priority scientific direction in modern dermatology. Understanding of the commonality of pathogenesis and the mutually complicating nature of comorbidity makes a possible to prescribe individual rational treatment. The aim of the study was search and analysis of the data of review, experimental and clinical scientific and medical publications on the issues of the comorbidity of LP. Searching was carried out through the PubMed/MEDLINE portal from the databases of the National Center Biotechnology Information, U. S. National Library of Medicine, National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, as well as the portals «Scientific Electronic Library eLIBRARY.RU», «Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI)» and «Index Copernicus». The aim of this study was to assess the level of training, awareness and attitude about psychocutaneous disorders among dermatologists in Eastern Europe. The survey study included 396 dermatologists. Only 16.16 % of the respondents reported a clear understanding of term psychodermatology, 47.47% of them no training and had attended no educational events on psychodermatology. 17. 8 % of dermatologists never referred such patients to psychiatrists. Around 85 % of the respondents were unaware of any psychodermatology resources. Overall 61 % of the dermatologists expressed interest in attending any kind of CME activity on psychodermatology. Survey results showed that knowledge about the diagnosis and treatment for psychocutaneous disorders is lacking. These findings support the need for improvement in training in psychodermatology and the holding of regular CME events.Item Psychodermatology: awareness, understanding and attitude of dermatologists in Eastern Europe(2018-09) Havryliuk, OleksandraItem Psychodermatology: knowledge awareness and attitude of dermatologists in Eastern Europe(2019) Havryliuk, Oleksandra; Jafferany, Mohammad; Uladzimir, AdaskevichItem Quality of life in dermatology: validation of measurement(2018-02) Kutasevych, Yanina; Matiushenko, Valeriia; Havryliuk, OleksandraItem The attentiveness of dermatologists towards psychocutaneous medicine in Ukraine(2019) Havryliuk, Oleksandra; Kutasevych, Yanina; Jafferany, MohammadItem The influence of syphilis on pregnancy(The influence of syphilis on pregnancy, 2018-05) Havryliuk, Oleksandra; Unuchko, Sergij; Gubenko, Tetiana; Osinska, Tetiana
