Psychological and pedagogical aspects of lecturer's work at a modern medical university

Abstract

The study examines the psychological and pedagogical dimensions of teaching activity at a modern medical university. Emphasis is placed on the multitasking nature of the lecturer’s work, which includes simultaneous engagement in clinical, teaching, research and educational responsibilities. The analysis underscores the necessity for psychological and pedagogical competences that support the development of professional qualities in future physicians, including empathy, stress resistance, communication skills and the capacity to function effectively in high-pressure environments. Attention is given to the integration of traditional teaching approaches with innovative methods such as simulation technologies, digital learning platforms and distance education tools. The discussion highlights the role of the lecturer’s personal example in shaping students’ moral frameworks, social responsibility and reflective skills. Identified challenges include high workload, emotional strain and insufficient pedagogical training among medical educators.
