Abstract
The authors of the article developed and proposed a protocol for providing emergency medical care at the early hospital stage for patients with polytrauma, the main component of which is chest trauma with the formation of pulmonary contusion and hemopneumothorax. The authors of the publication highlighted their experience of conducting intensive therapy measures in 200 patients with chest trauma. At the beginning, the authors of the study carried out a purposeful development of the most appropriate methods of intensive therapy in 80 such patients. Subsequently, the researchers evaluated the effectiveness of using the developed protocol in 120 patients with chest trauma, which had impaired by pulmonary contusion and hemopneumothorax. The authors showed that during the treatment there were no fatal cases, as a result, of the progression of acute respiratory failure syndrome. If there were deaths, they occurred for a different reason. The protocol includes advice on general anesthesia, respiratory support, hemodynamic correction, measures to reduce blood loss, prevention of thrombus formation and thromboembolic complications, prevention of infectious complications, and more.
