Abstract

Analysis of treatment outcomes demonstrated a reduction in gingival inflammation in both study subgroups, as evidenced by negative Schiller-Pisarev test results in the main subgroup and the comparison subgroup. Quantitative assessment of the Schiller–Pisarev test using the Svrakov iodine number showed that in patients of the main subgroup with stage II generalized periodontitis, the indicator decreased from 2.76 ± 0.19 to 1.29 ± 0.09 points. In the comparison subgroup, the corresponding value decreased from 2.76 ± 0.19 to 1.41 ± 0.09 points. After treatment, Schiller–Pisarev test values differed statistically significantly between the two subgroups (p < 0.05). In patients of the main subgroup with stage II generalized periodontitis, the PBI decreased from 2.74 ± 0.19 to 0.65 ± 0.06 points. In the comparison subgroup, the PBI decreased from 2.77 ± 0.19 to 0.82 ± 0.07 points. The obtained results in the main and comparison subgroups differed statistically significantly (p < 0.05).
