Abstract: Arterial hypertension (AH) is a major risk factor for the development of cardiovascular complications in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 (DM), increasing the incidence of coronary heart disease, stroke, retinopathy and nephrosclerosis. Thus, the combination of hypertension and diabetes increases the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications on average by 5-6 times compared with patients with hypertension without diabetes.
