Abstract: Bronchoscopy is an endoscopic technique used for visualizing the inside of the respiratory tract for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. It can also be used for obtaining samples of tissue from the airways. It is usually performed using a rigid bronchoscope (older instrument) or a flexible (fibreoptic) bronchoscope.
