Abstract: | Dyspnea is a symptom, not a discreet disease, and can be present in the absence of disease, or be the net result of multiple disease processes. It is an extremely common symptom. About 25% of patients seen by the physician in the ambulatory setting present with dyspnea. This number can be as high as 50% in the tertiary care setting. |
