The development of mycormycosis depends on the metabolic and immune status of the human body. The authors conducted a clinical and morphological analysis of the case of rhinocerebral mucormycosis in a patient who was diagnosed lifetime, but despite a set of therapeutic and surgical measures led to death, which was due to the severity of the pathology, late hospitalization of the patient and the presence of comorbidities (type 1 diabetes mellitus and post-COVID-19 syndrome). The clinical case presented by the authors raises the issue of the need to increase physicians’ awareness about the rhinocerebral form of mucormycosis, improve early diagnostic methods and find effective approaches to therapeutic and surgical treatment of this pathology.Item Occupational diseases in health care workers(2025-02-27) Kapustnyk, Valerij; Shelest, Boris; Babycheva, Oleksandra; Brek, Valeria; Kalmykov, Oleksiy; Latohuz, Jurii; Prokhorenko Vasyl; Sadovenko, OlgaHealthcare workers are at high risk of developing diseases due to their daily exposure to biological, chemical and physical hazards. According to the World Health Organization, up to 40 % of healthcare workers are at risk of contracting pathogenic microorganisms every year. The obtained information made it possible to start research among students of higher medical education regarding their awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 88.4% of respondents know about 17 Central and Eastern European Central Banks. To the question “Is there, from your point of view, a connection between Goal 3 of the SDS: “Ensure a healthy lifestyle” and Goal 4: “Ensure comprehensive and fair quality education” - 91% answered that “Yes.” More than 88% of respondents believe that the priority among the goals for the develop- ment of education is to ensure that all students of higher education acquire the competencies neces- sary to promote sustainable development. 10% of the respondents indicated that it is still difficult for them to answer, which may indicate the need for measures to increase the awareness of students of higher medical education about issues related to SDG. When choosing a priority SDG from the 17 given, a full range of answers was received, therefore it is not possible to choose one, this indicates that the students of higher medical education did not form a purposeful choice among the SDGs, but most (18.6%) chose the third goal of sustainable development, which corresponds to the professional training of the surveyed applicants of higher medical education.
