The study of the level of tenascin C in the patients with acute myocardial infarction

Abstract

Introduction. Tenascin-C (TN-C) is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein specifically expressed in early-stage embryos, playing important roles in development of the myocardium, valves, and coronary vessels, but transiently appears during pathological conditions and plays important roles in tissue remodeling. We investigated clinical implications of serum TN-C levels in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The research purpose: analyze the role tenascin C in the development of acute myocardial infarction. The conclusion. Hence, studies have shown that there is elevated of level tenascin C in patients of acute myocardial infarction. Cox proportional hazards model analysis showed that tenascin C was an important independent predictor of MACE. In the future we planned to study tenascin C in patients with acute myocardial infarction with the presence and absence of type 2 diabetes.
