Lichen-indicative assessment of the ecological state of atmospheric air in urbanised areas of eastern Ukraine

Abstract

The article presents the results of a comprehensive study of the state of atmospheric air in urbanized areas of Poltava and Kharkiv regions using the lichen indication method. The dynamics of changes in the main pollutants in the period 2020–2023 is analyzed, and correlations between lichen indication data and instrumental measurements are established. The species composition and distribution features of indicator lichens in different functional zones of the studied territories are determined. The high efficiency of the lichen-indication method for assessing the quality of atmospheric air in an urban environment has been revealed. The peculiarities of the martial law impact on the ecological situation in the region and its reflection in the changes of lichen flora are established
