Introduction. Today, the cardiovascular diseases are the actual problem worldwide. It is known that matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) and tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinases (TIMP) are considered as prognostic markers of the heart diseases. Therefore, the study of MMP and TIMP in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) represent scientific interest. The research purpose: analyze the role matrix metalloproteinases and their inhibitors in the development of acute myocardial infarction. The conclusion. Hence, studies have shown that there is elevated of level MMP-9, MMP-13 in patients with acute myocardial infarction. The levels of TIMP-1, TIMP-4 was decreased in the patients with acute myocardial infarction. In the future we planned to study MMP-13 and TIMP-4 in patients with acute myocardial infarction with the presence and absence of type 2 diabetes.ru_RU
