dc.description.abstractObesity is considered to be a risk factor for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, which is characterised by hyperglycaemia in pregnant women. Recent studies have demonstrated that glycated erythrocytes are more prone to eryptosis, a unique regulated cell death observed only in mature erythrocytes.
