According to modern research, patients with impaired carbohydrate metabolism have a significantly higher risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events associated with complications of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia and hyperglycemia are key links in the development of fatal consequences of acute coronary syndrome on the background of type 2 diabetes mellitus.en_US
