Abstract
The aim of the research was to examine whether autoantibodies against type IV collagen are associated with chronic heart failure (CHF) due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Conclusions. The increase of plasma collagen type IV autoantibodies is associated with dilation of the left ventricle and progression of congestive heart failure due to COPD. The mechanisms of the damaging eff ect of type IV collagen antibodies on myocardium are interesting for studies.
