Abstract: Fatal cardiovascular events are a major cause of death in Europe. The clinical course of most rheumatic diseases is accompanied with high intensity of atherogenesis. For example, cardiovascular mortality in patients with rheumatoid arthritis is 3 times higher than in the general population. According to researchers the level of cardiovascular mortality in patients with Bechterew’s disease (BD) increased 1.5- 2 times compared with general population rate. However, other researchers have noted absence of cardiovascular risk in patients with BD. One of cardiovascular risk assessment methods is the study of specific biochemical markers of atherogenicity. Elevated serum levels of uric acid (UAc), total cholesterol (TCh), low density 51 тезисы Vi евразийского конгресса кардиологов lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) and decreased serum level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) are proven markers of systemic atherosclerosis in particular and cardiovascular mortality in general. Pathological changes of these markers are an independent risk factor for cardiovascular events. Purpose. To determine the content of biochemical markers of atherogenicity (UAc, TCh, LDL- cholesterol and HDL- cholesterol) in the blood serum of patients with a central form of BD with minimal activity.
